I have conducted randomised prospective clinical trials at an international level with validation in multi-centre University trials. In particular, I have promoted, having obtained approval from the Ethics Committee of the G. Pini Institute, the "independent clinical study on the efficacy and safety of the use of rhBMP-7 (OP-1) in association with mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of nonunion of long bones.” I have performed an economy drug study on the use of growth factors in traumatology entitled "Comparative analysis of costs and cost/effectiveness ratio of the treatment of persistent post- traumatic non-unions of the tibia with autologous transplant of the Iliac Crest or Osigraft® (Eptotermin alfa, rhBMP-7,rhOP-1)”. I am a Scientific manager for the Project implemented for the development of specific DRG relating to the use of Biotechnologies in the field of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. I am a manager at the European and Italian group for the treatment of post-traumatic injury and review of complex prosthetics with the use of large resection prostheses. I am a manager at the Italian group for the treatment of limb fractures via osteosynthesis with carbon synthesis means. I am a manager at the Italian group for the osteosynthesis of fractures in children (Orthopediatrics). I am a manager at the Lombardy group for the study of the effectiveness of new infiltrative products based on hyaluronic acid for the treatment of initial gonarthrosis . Currently in the definition phase is a study on the effectiveness of a new system for the insertion of distal screws in the implant of long femoral nails I recently completed a comparative study on the efficacy of growth factors (rh-BMP-7) with respect to autologous bone graft from the iliac crest in the treatment of 150 nonunions and loss of substance of the long bones.
