Best results are got matching different approaches: currently the gold standard is resurfacing with fractionated ablative LASER or Radiofrequency. Other complementary techniques can be discussed after a direct consultation.

Hallo, For acne scars, described as you did, my protocol consist in TCA peeling and Nd:Yag non ablative laser. Rarerly I also inject some specific peptide enriched hyaluronic acid to ensure the best durability fot the obtained result. The combination teraoy, anda consequent personalization, is obtained throught the first visit. I wait for you for the first consultation.

f by “little craters” you mean indented acne scars (atrophic scars), creams alone usually cannot remove them completely. The most effective treatment depends on the type of scar. Ice-pick scars: often treated with TCA CROSS or sometimes punch techniques. Rolling scars: subcision, often combined with a laser or filler. Boxcar scars: fractional CO₂ laser, fractional Er:YAG, microneedling, or other resurfacing techniques depending on depth. Mild uneven texture: retinoids (such as tretinoin), chemical peels or microneedling may improve the appearance over time. 5 For daily skincare, SPF 50+ every morning is important, and a topical retinoid can help collagen remodeling and prevent new acne, but it won't “fill” deep craters. If you want, send me a clear photo of your cheeks in natural light, and I can help you identify whether they look more like rolling, boxcar, or ice-pick scars and explain which treatments are generally used for that type.

Hello. Acne scars can have different characteristics and depths (for example, rolling, boxcar or ice-pick scars), so the most appropriate treatment depends on the type of scar. For depressed scars, several treatments can be considered, including hyaluronic acid injections to lift selected depressions, as well as other procedures aimed at stimulating skin regeneration. In many cases, combining different techniques provides better results. A medical assessment is necessary to examine the scars and determine which treatment, or combination of treatments, would be most suitable for your skin.

Vi sono diversi principi attivi, le consiglio di scrivere in italiano (se è in Italia) e di rivolgersi ad un internista e ad un medico estetico.

Hello, the small “craters” you describe may be atrophic acne scars—depressions caused by a loss of tissue following inflammation. Several treatments can improve their appearance, although complete removal is not always realistic. A personalised combination of treatments is often helpful. Options include microneedling to stimulate collagen production, sometimes combined with exosome-based products for their regenerative effects; fractional lasers to remodel scar tissue, and chemical peels selected according to the depth and type of scarring. Deeper or tethered scars may also require targeted procedures, such as subcision, to release the tissue pulling the skin down or, in selected cases with more pronounced tissue atrophy, injectable biostimulatory treatments may help support collagen formation and improve depressed scars. The most suitable approach depends on your skin type and tone, the shape and depth of the scars, whether your acne is still active, and any treatments or medications you are currently using or have recently taken. Active acne generally needs to be controlled first to help prevent new scars. Several sessions are often needed, with gradual improvement over time. I would be happy to assess your skin and discuss a personalised treatment plan. You can contact me or book a consultation directly through MioDottore.
